07:57 Dyrcona @later tell jaswinder When you do a pcrud.create call, it returns the new object with the id, etc., filled in.
07:57 pinesol_green Dyrcona: The operation succeeded.
07:58 Dyrcona @later tell jaswinder Take a look at the subs create_precat_copy or create_fuller_copy in NCIPServer as examples.
07:58 pinesol_green Dyrcona: The operation succeeded.
07:59 * Dyrcona was too busy to answer yesterday.

13:24 * jeff sends a message to devimc regarding their recent kata-container bugs filed in the OpenSRF project.
13:24 berick jeff++
13:24 jeff (the relationship between kata-containers and OpenSRF is unclear, and potentially a mistake)
13:24 jeff glanced at a few of the repos, did some searching, maybe they have us confused with another opensrf. :-)
13:25 jeff (there was one, I think, at least a while back?)
13:25 kmlussier jeff: I was thinking they belonged in the Ubuntu project.
13:28 Dyrcona Yet another reason to leave Launchpad.
13:29 kmlussier Was there really something else called opensrf? Wow.
13:32 Bmagic What's up with asset.copy.mint_condition='f' not getting targeted for holds?
13:33 jeff holds can require a mint condition copy.
13:33 Bmagic That's on the hold UI?
13:34 rlefaive joined #evergreen
13:34 Bmagic Do I remember a discussion about that column where people were thinking of removing it?
13:34 idjit joined #evergreen
13:35 Dyrcona Holds generally require a mint condition copy. I'm not even sure a patron can change that.
13:36 kmlussier Yes, that's my recollection too.
13:36 Dyrcona Bmagic: I do remember such discussion from time to time.
13:37 Dyrcona It comes up about as often as some discovers the field and its effect on holds. :)
13:37 Bmagic :)
13:38 Dyrcona I'm on the side of getting rid of it, but I don't think it is a do or die kind of thing.
13:39 jeff it's exposed in the staff client on a hold as "Set Desired Copy Quality"
13:40 Bmagic I feel like it's redundant. Hold policies should be able to take care of it and there is another flag called "holdable" which functions the same way as mint_condition as far as I can tell. (at least for staff and those confined to the staff interface)
13:40 jeff How would you accomplish this with hold policies?
13:41 Bmagic circmod for example
13:42 jeff Not seeing it. I think the main issue is that it's an under-documented, rarely-used feature. Determining if it should grow some docs or be removed is probably a question that should involve some knowledge of who uses it. :-)
13:44 miker holdable does not function the same as mint-condition. that is a rule-level "if you match this, the hold is not allowed" flag. mint-condition is a copy-inclusion flag ... if true on the rule, the copy must also have mint-condition true
14:03 jeff s/if true on the rule/if true on the hold/ ?
14:08 Dyrcona I'm for removing it just to make holds that little bit simpler, if for no other reason.

14:25 jeff devimc has created a new project and moved the half-dozen kata-containers bugs from OpenSRF to that new project. They no longer appear under the OpenSRF project on launchpad.

16:12 jeff miker++
16:18 miker looks like webstaff needs to grow the ability to change that in hold editing? anyway... **POOF**
16:30 jeff webby had the option when viewing a patron's list of holds.
16:31 miker ah, well, xul parity attained, I think
