11:43 miker https://blog.thoughtram.io/angular/2015/10/24/upgrading-apps-to-angular-2-using-ngupgrade.html
11:46 gmcharlt @quote add <Dyrcona> We rejected coffee for the same reason. There... I've decided!
11:46 pinesol_green gmcharlt: The operation succeeded. Quote #182 added.
11:51 dbs also https://angular.io/guide/upgrade
11:53 mmorgan jeff: What are you doing with standing penalties?
11:53 dbs might make sense to just rewrite the Dojo stuff directly in Angular 5 and then address the AngularJS stuff
11:56 jeff mmorgan: looking at bug 1617318 again, and also starting to experiment with using them to record staff notes regarding manual collections/overdue activities which are then included in reports that those staff work from
11:56 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1617318 in Evergreen "Collections API should create a standing-penalty-based note" [Wishlist,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1617318 - Assigned to Jeff Godin (jgodin)
11:56 maryj So for this branch: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1730764 , I made an example PO ( Name: BT Juvenile Nov 2011 , ID: 3 ) that's been activated, on-order, and ready to have some items cancelled! (aka for testing this branch)
11:56 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1730764 in Evergreen "Acq-created Copies are being deleted for backordered items" [Undecided,New]
11:56 maryj ^^ csharp
11:57 jeff mmorgan: that last part might be unclear. one example would be a library where they run an "overdues report" and call patrons with items over a certain number of days overdue. in the past, they had made written notes, then carried those over onto the next week's printed report... by hand.
11:57 jeff mmorgan: experiment (successful, so far) is that the staff record the new notes in a special standing penalty type, then they are automatically carried over onto the next run of the report.
11:58 mmorgan jeff: Ouch. Ok, interesting :)
12:00 jeff mmorgan: we have offered more automated (but less personal!) methods for overdues, but this is what currently works for some libraries, so we'll try to also make it work better for them. :-)
12:01 mmorgan jeff++
12:02 mmorgan Following up on very long overdue items does tend to need a personal touch at times.

12:09 jeff also musing on the idea of a method where you could simplify choices presented to some libraries within a consortium when it comes to circ modifiers, standing penalties, billing types, etc.

13:07 bshum mixo: Hmm
13:07 bshum I think those might be database entries
13:07 bshum But I'm not 100% sure yet
13:09 bshum mixo: Yes, those values are stored in db.seed for translation
13:10 bshum To load those types of translations to your database, you have to find the correspondingly generated file
13:11 bshum In Open-ILS/src/sql/Pg/
13:11 bshum There's a bunch of 950.data.seed-values-** language files
13:11 bshum Those contain translated SQL database entries
13:11 bshum Usually I load them via psql to my database to apply translations for the database values
13:14 mixo thank you bshum
13:14 bshum But basically, all the database translations go inside of config.i18n_core table.
13:28 berick bshum: https://angular.io/guide/i18n FYI

16:27 Bmagic hbrennan: thanks for the vote! I am feeling good about it myself, but I can't speak for the members.....
16:27 hbrennan Bmagic: I didn't realize I was being so bold. That helped :)
16:27 hbrennan Bmagic: Ahhh, ignorance :)

16:32 jeffdavis We're seeing an issue where our Z39.50 service gives a 'yaz_marc_read_xml failed' error on some records, but the underlying SRU response seems fine. MARC::Record doesn't choke on the record and xml_is_well_formed(marc) returns true. Anyone run into this?
16:32 Bmagic not us (yet)
16:33 jeff jeffdavis: does yaz-marcdump have the same issue with the XML in question?
16:35 jeff jeffdavis: does the xml pass schema validation with xmllint? something like: xmllint --noout --schema ~/MARC21slim.xsd file.xml && echo OK
16:36 jeff (not that a failure/warning there is always fatal -- but it can give useful clues that other things (like my eyes) miss)
16:37 jeff jeffdavis: can you share a problem record?
16:40 jeffdavis jeff: https://sirl.mb.catalogue.libraries.coop/eg/opac/record/107705686?locg=1200
16:41 jeffdavis yaz-marcdump gives the same error, no additional info with -v

16:41 remingtron bshum: I added notes to the google doc in a section called "Add Documentation-Building to the build server automated tests"
16:42 remingtron phasefx: bshum and I were talking about adding docs-building to the automated tests script
16:42 JBoyer hbrennan, I wonder if your phantom search result items may be helped by bug 1723977 ?
16:42 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1723977 in Evergreen "Searching specific location in Advanced Search not limiting correctly in 3.0" [Medium,Fix committed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1723977
16:42 phasefx remingtron: cool deal
16:42 remingtron I think the docs build server needs some extra packages, but I don't know the details
16:43 jeffdavis SRU search for that record by ISBN: https://catalogue.libraries.coop/opac/extras/sru/SPRUCE/holdings?version=1.1&amp;operation=searchRetrieve&query=eg.isbn%3D1550284142&maximumRecords=0
16:44 remingtron phasefx: what's the best way for us to try adding the docs build commands to the other tests?
16:44 pinesol_green [evergreen|Remington Steed] Docs: Improve warning format in ebook api section - <http://git.evergreen-ils.org/?p=Evergreen.git;a=commit;h=58e7ca4>
16:44 jeff jeffdavis: looks like a bad leader.
16:44 phasefx remingtron: my suggestion is to first set up a local debian vm for quick iteration, take a pristine snapshot

16:45 phasefx remingtron: then it's just a matter of pushing the seed script into place and running. You can add whatever packages you need to those scripts
16:46 remingtron phasefx: is this the script I should be using? http://git.evergreen-ils.org/?p=working/random.git;a=blob;f=installer/wheezy/eg_wheezy_installer.sh;hb=refs/heads/collab/phasefx/wheezy_installer

16:47 phasefx remingtron: that's it, or at least the repo for it
16:47 jeffdavis jeff: aha, thanks! (that xmllint command will be quite useful in future)
16:47 remingtron phasefx: cool, thanks
16:48 jeff jeffdavis: beware that it will report on things that you might not care about, but if you keep it around for looking at things that are already suspect... it can be handy.
16:48 jeff (or lead you on a wild goose chase...)
16:49 phasefx remingtron: so on the live server, there's a cron for calling qa/test.sh out of that repo. That file has credentials and IP for the virtual machine that will actually run the tests
16:49 phasefx remingtron: so you'd just fork it, put in your own information
16:50 phasefx and just manually refresh the vm between runs
16:51 remingtron okay, I think I follow
16:51 phasefx remingtron: you'll want to set up ssh keys to avoid password prompts
16:52 phasefx remingtron: so test.sh runs on the "reporting" server, but it remotely manipulates the "testing" server through ssh
16:54 phasefx remingtron: harr, it looks like I put a README in there explaining as much
16:55 phasefx or rather, explaining how to do it without two servers

17:11 jeffdavis I wonder how many of our MARC records are invalid MARCXML. I suspect I'd rather not know.

18:00 pinesol_green News from qatests: Test Success <http://testing.evergreen-ils.org/~live>
19:38 hbrennan @later tell jboyer Thanks for suggested bug (1723977) but incorrect count of copies is showing on record view, not just search results. Example: http://catalog.ci.homer.ak.us/eg/opac/record/19875 shows 2 copies, but staff client(s) only show one copy (which is correct). Ruled out OPAC looking at deleted copies, previous spine labels listed in holding maintenance.
19:38 pinesol_green hbrennan: The operation succeeded.

22:23 jeff hah. what are the odds. "select id, marc from biblio.record_entry limit 2" gives me two records with two different length <leader>s
22:23 jeff well, i suppose i'll know the odds soon.
22:23 jeff but that was amusing. :P
22:33 jeff hah. iNCIPit has a hardcoded leader that's two characters short.
23:34 jeff lots of leaders ending in 45 0 or 4504.
23:35 jeff followed by '450 ' and '45x0'
