10:47 kmlussier Good morning #evergreen!
10:47 mmorgan Good Morning!
10:47 mmorgan @coffee kmlussier
10:47 * pinesol_green brews and pours a cup of Kenya AA Kiaora Estate Full City Roast, and sends it sliding down the bar to kmlussier
10:49 kmlussier mmorgan: Thanks!
10:52 rkw good morning. I'm trying to migrate a small library from Spectrum Circ-Cat to Evergreen 2.12.5. I am able to access the server from a Win 7 client. When I attempt to register a patron, I input data in the required fields and get this error "Method error: 500:  *** Call to [open-ils.actor.patron.update] failed for session [0.91064571096751021509374783064], thread trace [17]:
10:52 rkw Can't call method "billing_address" on unblessed reference at /usr/local/share/perl/5.22.1/OpenILS/Application/Actor.pm line 743."
10:53 rkw can someone tell me if this is an error from when I setup the server, or is it related to the win 7 client?
11:05 Bmagic rkw: It probably doesn't have anything to do with the Windows 7 Client
11:06 Bmagic Does this happen for any patron you register? Did you create the org units by hand? Did autogen run correctly?
11:09 rkw Bmagic: my patron data is empty, so I am trying to input a sample patron ... until a few min ago, all org units were created by the original installation. I have not created anything. A few min ago, I tried to create a unit called "teachers". autogen does not ring a bell, so it sounds like I've failed to complete a step or two
11:09 rkw Bmagic: I'm RTFM now
11:13 rkw Bmagic: I'm no where near ready to input patrons .... I've only finished the install and imported books....lots more to do. thanks for the help
11:13 Bmagic If you are using the stock database, then the org units are probably fine. How about permission groups?
11:14 Bmagic rkw: oh! yeah, there is a fair amount of other tables and setup. It sounds like you are well on your way!
11:14 kmlussier rkw: autogen is something you would have run during step 13 (starting Evergreen) part of the server installation instructions - https://evergreen-ils.org/documentation/install/README_2_12.html
11:15 dbs rkw: and you also need to run autogen after you create a new org unit, and various other special events
11:17 rkw hmmm....I see that step and have a line thru "autogen.sh" which indicates to me that I did that step. I've completed thru step 14 of the readme
11:17 rkw all this was done a couple weeks back. I'm just now trying to make progress

11:22 rkw well, I found Evergreen_Documentation.pdf so I realize I'm probably a long way from soliciting IRC help ... thank you all. I'll be back after I get thru .... oh goodness ... 808 pages!

13:34 csharp I've started a branch (not published yet) to add survey data to concerto... do people think it's okay that every user has a survey response, or it better to exclude a set of users so we have some that do and some that don't have survey responses?
13:35 * csharp was thinking of excluding users with an id evenly divisible by 6 (or something)
13:42 jeff worth the effort, imo.
13:51 csharp jeff: thanks

16:11 mmorgan In the web client, if I open the far right menu (change operator, log out, etc), there's a Hatch icon there that appears disabled. What is it supposed to do?
16:12 berick mmorgan: the little arrows on the left will turn green if Hatch is available.
16:12 berick it's purely for status, no actions
16:12 berick hm, those menu entries need titles
16:13 mmorgan Ok, gotcha. Same function at the "thumbs up" in workstation admin but easier to get to.
16:13 berick mmorgan: yes, exactly
16:15 mmorgan Thanks!

19:02 csharp awesome - adding survey data to concerto makes the problem from bug 1728122 very evident - would definitely have been found when testing for signoff
