jeff / bshum: yes, there's really nothing to maintain -- the introspection stuff is old as the hills and hasn't changed ... ever. there are some issues on the C side that should be cleaned up (the atomic/streaming bool is logically reversed from the perl, signature structure is a little different) however -- but that's opensrf, not docgen |
09:49 |
miker |
also, I find it very handy on a dev system on occasion, so I'd like to see it unbroken as well |
09:55 |
bshum |
Well, so far in my re-testing of the apache config |
09:55 |
bshum |
I think all that's really needed was to add "AddType application/xml .xsl" to the definition |
09:55 |
bshum |
I'm not sure if it's an apache 2.4 specific thing |
09:56 |
bshum |
I have to retest with a system that's got apache 2.2, but really those should be mostly dead by now :) |
09:56 |
miker |
bshum: that looks like it works. 2.2 isn't all the way dead, though |
09:56 |

Actually lately I've had trouble even finding the ISO repo for older Debian. They've redone their website to really push Stretch or latest out there for folks to adopt |
09:58 |

should bookmark it |

jeff: are you here? |
10:44 |
jeff |
somewhat. |
10:45 |
Bmagic |
hey, so I finally got around to sharing that raspberry pi SIP proxy server code |
10:45 |
Bmagic |
jeff: We have been using it in production for awhile now, it's working well so far. Been tricking Bibliotheca selfcheck machines for months |
10:46 |
Bmagic |
https://github.com/mcoia/evergreen_sip_proxy |
10:47 |
Bmagic |
jeff: I don't think it would be much work to inject/eject some of the SIP message between the Evergreen SIP server and the SIP device and hook it up to a config file somehow |

thanks for sharing! i'll try and take a look soon. :-) |

cool beans |
10:51 |
berick |
Bmagic: neat! |
10:52 |
Bmagic |
berick: thanks! It was super fun to code |
10:52 |
Bmagic |
It made me feel like a SIP ninja |
10:53 |
bshum |
miker: jeff: So from my fresh Wheezy install, it looks like the docgen.xsl works fine without any changes for the stock eg_vhost.conf. So that extra line seems only necessary for apache 2.4 to work properly. |
10:53 |
kmlussier |
@who is a SIP ninja |
10:53 |
pinesol_green |
pinesol_green is a SIP ninja. |
10:53 |
bshum |
So apache 2.2 config requires no adjustment and "just works" |
10:54 |
miker |
it correctly sees xsl as an xml application ... :) |
10:54 |
jeff |
bshum: on apache 2.4, you didn't need the SSI legacy directive? That doesn't mesh with my understanding. |
10:54 |
bshum |
jeff: Well I was just testing with the lines one by one, and found that I only needed the one line |
10:55 |
miker |
jeff: you do. you need the whole block that the commit removed, plus the line bshum is talking about |
10:55 |
miker |
or, that's what worked for me on 2.4 |
10:55 |
bshum |
So now I'm not sure why, cause I thought I needed everything too |
10:55 |
bshum |
Maybe something got cached... re-tests |
10:55 |
jeff |
heh. |
10:56 |
jeff |
miker: that's why i was surprised and trying to make sure i understood bshum's statements above. |
10:57 |
bshum |
jeff: miker: well.... odd as it seems, when I only add that one line to my eg_vhost.conf definition for the docgen.xsl, the page renders as expected... |
10:57 |
bshum |
I didn't need the SSI legacy directive stuff |
10:58 |
miker |
bshum: does it actually give results when you search, or just the "front" page works? |
10:58 |
bshum |
miker: Results too |
10:58 |
miker |
ah, well, I dunno |
10:59 |
bshum |
Looked up open-ils.actor for method "register" and got back two hits. So it works as far as I can tell |
10:59 |
miker |
in any case, it can be unbroke :) |
10:59 |
bshum |
Yep |
11:12 |
* jeff |
goes back to notes/logs to see what some more of his sip proxy use cases were |
11:14 |
jeff |
Bmagic: what is the intent of the Samba bits in mcoia/evergreen_sip_proxy? |
11:18 |
Bmagic |
jeff: it's not requried, but I set it up to make it somewhat configurable by the library where the raspberry pi lives |
11:20 |
Bmagic |
for example, through the config, you could make the path to "reboot.txt" to be in the samba folder, where the local library IT person could create a file and cause the raspberry pi to reboot properly (without having to yank the power) |
11:23 |
Bmagic |
Or update the config to change ports, etc |
11:30 |
Bmagic |
And you can configure the SIP logs to write to that folder for troubleshooting |

Anyone here have their OPAC configured with Content Cafe? And also get "suggested" reads? Is that supposed to be in the Awards section on the record display |
12:22 |
Bmagic |
I have it setup and the content is showing up under "Summaries & More" - but the library claims that Content Cafe should also be giving "Suggested Reads" |
12:26 |
kmlussier |
Bmagic: Maybe it's based on the subscription? C/W MARS subscribes, but, from what I can tell, they're only getting reviews and summaries from Content Cafe. They get their Suggested Reads from Novelist |
12:28 |
Bmagic |
Thanks, that helps |

afternoon y’all. Before I burn my afternoon, is there anyway that tweaking css for the KPAC could mess up search result display in the staff client? |
13:02 |
Bmagic |
I don't think the xul staff client uses /eg/kpac/ but I could be wrong |
13:19 |
stephengwills |
Turns out the staff client does link to the /eg/opac/css/style.css |
13:20 |
stephengwills |
which is what it is, fact is I should have generated my own custom classes for the KPAC anyway… will do it now. just typing this for future reference when I forget again :) |
13:35 |
Bmagic |
stephengwills: if you edited stuff in /eg/opac - then yes, that can affect the staff client |

I was messing with the styles.css in the kpac, not the opac however. That said I have three styles.css right now. one in opac, one in templates_custom and one in the Kpac. so I need to tease a bad knot out of this scarf anyway. |
