10:00 JBoyer Speaking of the beta deadline, I'd like to point out that bug 1661747 and bug 1517137 would benefit from more eyes, if only briefly. A release note has been added for the new A/T helper, and the permissions upgrade script will Do The Right Thing if you've added some, all, or none of the permissions either where the script puts them or at ids > 1000.

10:25 kmlussier JBoyer: I looked at the upgrade script for the missing permissions last night. I had a follow-up question.
10:25 JBoyer ok
10:26 kmlussier JBoyer: When I ran the upgrade script, it kept my existing permissions with their id at >1000. I'm fine with that, but is that what you expected?
10:27 kmlussier From your comment, I though you were planning to give the existing permission the new id.
10:27 JBoyer It is not. :/
10:28 JBoyer No, the plan was to change the name of the existing, insert the corrected version, then duplicate the mappings and delete the >1000 version. Now that I think about it though, if it's not deleting the mappings also that doesn't happen.
10:28 JBoyer Drats.
10:28 JBoyer time for a short meeting. Back soon!
10:29 kmlussier JBoyer: Did you want to work on it some more or should we look at putting it in the way it is?

10:45 JBoyer Meeting over. I'll fix it. My testing method was just lacking (add perm at >1000, run script, woo.) This time I'll assign it to a few groups to make sure the right thing is done.
11:03 Christineb joined #evergreen
11:15 JBoyer kmlussier, Given the way the script is written I'm rather confused how it would keep the >1000 permissions around. Did it not insert the <1000 versions? (they can't both exist in the table simultaneously)
11:15 JBoyer I will say if you've inserted anything in the id = 564 to 589 range those will be "skipped" under the assumption you needed it before running the script and have dealt with everything yourself.

14:25 graced #info Karen from the SFC requested a phone call with afterl on 2/14
14:25 graced afterl: Anything to report?
14:25 afterl Yes ...
14:25 afterl Last Tuesday Karen Sandler from the SFC and I touched base via a phone call.  Karen was wondering if we had immediate plans to transition from the SFC to another entity, like Equinox since they are now a non-profit.
14:25 afterl I told her we had no specific plans, that we were in the very early stages of looking at our future.  Karen also suggested that they could send someone to our conference in Kentucky if we wanted some help should there be a decision to transition to another group.  The call was brief.
14:26 terran Did you get the impression that they were eager for us to leave?
14:26 graced afterl: just so I'm clear she offered to send someone to Covington to help with an *immediate* transition or just informational?
14:27 afterl I took her to mean that it would be immediate.  That said, I could have misunderstood.
14:27 afterl In other words, I could follow up for clarification
14:27 graced I guess that answers terran's question, too
14:27 rfrasur_ Is there some reason she'd think we'd want to have an immediate transition at the conference?
14:27 tspindler did you have any impression they had any opinion about staying or leaving?
14:27 afterl Okay, I did ask that.
14:28 afterl tspindler and terran:  I asked, were you looking for us to leave?
14:28 afterl And her reply was no, that if we decided to stay, that was cool.  (paraphrased)
14:30 graced Well, that segues nicely into our next agenda item.
14:30 terran Interesting.
14:30 graced And afterl I know you have to leave early today so let's move on if that's okay wiht everyone?

14:31 graced I don't know if everyone has had a chance to review this yet
14:31 graced Perhaps we should consider questions and points of clarification now and then take some time to digest the information presented before we go any further.
14:31 tspindler I think the bottom line is there is no slam dunk solution.
14:32 graced tspindler: exactly
14:32 graced there's a lot to consider
14:32 graced A topic this size will likely require a special meeting.
14:32 terran Or several
14:32 tspindler there are clearly some organizations we would not want to move to
14:32 graced indeed
14:32 tspindler would it be worth meeting some during the conference?
14:33 rfrasur_ I think so.
14:33 terran Yes
14:33 graced I think we should try to fit in one meeting prior to the conference if we can
14:33 graced Should we schedule a special session or maybe usurp next month's meeting agenda just for this?
14:33 tspindler also, do we want to the report to get in another format to be incorporated with the openils site
14:33 terran We could at least rule out some of the options before the conference
14:34 rfrasur_ terran, that's a good point.
14:34 graced tspindler: I think adding it to the git repo for sure would be good.  I bet miker can do that
14:34 miker graced: +1 to usurpation. it's certainly the biggest thing facing the board
14:34 miker I certainly can. tspindler, do you have an asciidoc version? if not, I'll do that
14:35 rfrasur_ graced, maybe if we can do the "weeding" that terran suggests at the next meeting, that'd give us time to also digest a little more of those directions that might also be positive and we could spend more time on those at the conference.
14:35 afterl I agree with miker.  Usurp.
14:35 tspindler miker: i can create an ASCII doc version
14:35 miker tspindler++
14:35 rfrasur_ and we might not need to usurp the whole meeting, but at least most of it.

14:36 sherbertbc +1

14:48 kmlussier Hi!
14:49 * graced waves at kmlussier
14:49 kmlussier I added my Outreach report to the agenda.
14:49 kmlussier rhamby and I have started getting ourselves organized for the 2016 annual report.
14:49 kmlussier We should be sending out a community survey again sometime soon.
14:50 rhamby early next week is my goal
14:50 kmlussier I would also like to submit a request again for meeting room space at ALA in Chicago in June. The cost of the room is $120.
14:50 kmlussier rhamby++
14:51 rfrasur_ If we're looking for a motion about the ALA space, I'll make that motion.
14:51 rgagnon Second
14:51 kmlussier We had a meeting for MidWinter, but, since I did not attend MidWinter, I've only heard second-hand reports on how it went. I do know we had a good turnout and discussion at last year's Annual conference.

14:58 graced #topic Evergreen Logo needs to be updated to a registered trademark
14:58 graced #info When the SFC registered the word mark "Evergreen” in 2014 the policy wording and the Logo with the ™ were not updated to reflect that.
14:58 graced Does anyone have the ability (fancy software programs) to correct the current logo to replace the TM  with an R ?

15:02 graced Does anyone have thoughts about what we’re comfortable doing to help?
15:03 rfrasur_ I think our 10% is part of raising funds.  We're already working for Evergreen, and our institutions...
15:03 tspindler rfrasur: agreed
15:03 graced perhaps the outreach committee could tweet about it?
15:04 graced Would there be objections to that? Or support of that?
15:04 kmlussier The outreach committee can help the EOB in whatever way you see fit.
15:04 graced Ambivalence to that?
15:04 rfrasur_ I'm definitely not against that, but it's up to the outreach committee.  If the rest of the board is cool with it, I'll be cool with it.
15:04 rgagnon Sounds like a good idea.
15:05 tspindler I'm fine with assistance like this I just would not want to transfer any funds
15:05 graced It's easy enough to schedule a few tweets in support of their fundraising efforts
15:05 rfrasur_ If the outreach committee doesn't think it'd be a burden, then I support it.
15:05 kmlussier I think I've retweeted things for them from the EG account in the past.
15:05 collum I'm OK with that, if the outreach committee is.

15:10 graced it's true
15:10 graced and modest
15:12 miker berick: you mentioned the google app store as the eventual home ... do you think we'll be super-versioning hatch for different versions of EG, or just trying really hard not to break the API so future hatches can work with older EGs?
15:14 berick kmlussier: i could go either way on squashing.  The bulk was already squashed.  some commits makes sense as-is.  other new commits each address bugs in the LP, so keeping them separate is not a bad thing, imo.  if squashing is desired, though, i'm happy to.  othwerwise, I say go for it.
15:15 kmlussier berick: I had no strong opinions, so I'll go for it. Thanks!
15:15 kmlussier berick++
15:16 berick miker: my sincere hope is future hatches can work with older EG's.  so far through recent testing, the API has been stable.  i expect we'll need some hatch-specific versioning, though.
15:16 kmlussier I'm thinking at release time, we probably should put the hatch installer on the downloads page?
15:16 berick kmlussier: makes sense.
15:16 berick kmlussier: are you planning to also merge the Hatch branch into Hatch master?  I can do that if you're not
15:17 miker berick: so, this'll be hatch-v0, maybe? and when offline is there, hatch-v1? something like that?
15:17 berick miker: yeah
15:17 miker ok. something along the lines of libpq, where they just bump the version when the protocol changes
15:18 kmlussier berick: Yes, can you do it?
15:18 berick kmlussier: can do
15:19 kmlussier Out of curiosity, do all core committers also have permission to merge to hatch master?
15:19 berick miker: yeah, i've been using 0.0.1 0.0.2, but that's probably overkill.  1.0, 1.1, ... (add offline) 2.0, 2.1.. seems reasonable
15:20 miker yeah, hopefully hatch won't be changing much, excepting any bug fixes or rubustifications. or forced changes from the goog

19:36 Dyrcona Oh. I'm still signed in... I forgot.
20:39 * kmlussier thinks she knows why the test failed today.
20:44 kmlussier When  I was working on bug 1553287, I noticed that the addition of parts would break up all of our metarecord groups in the test data.
20:44 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1553287 in Evergreen "Incorporating part information into biblio fingerprint" [Wishlist,Fix committed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1553287
20:44 kmlussier And the test relies on 3 records being part of the same metarecord group.
20:46 kmlussier So we need new sample records that can be grouped together and then point the test to those records.
20:50 kmlussier Maybe we can get a few Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone records to add to the test data. They have the added benefit of being easy to remember.
21:04 jeff sounds reasonable. :-)
21:16 rhamby kmlussier: I vote for at least one lovecraft collection to be added

21:18 kmlussier rhamby: One of my longtime Board members is a big H.P. Lovecraft fan.
21:19 rhamby kmlussier: I can get a few records together that would be in the same metarecord and submit it as a patch.
