06:57 chreeus jeff: I just ran a test of the UMS script and it's in random order each time too
06:57 chreeus so probably worth opening a master bug about needing EG to refactor code around Perl's hash randomization changes
07:36 JBoyer I'm finding Kroger's use of hydrophobic materials for their tea bags to be less amusing with each passing cup.
07:37 JBoyer (Rod Sterling)Imagine, if you will, teabags that float serenely atop the hot water within your mug, content to look out over the despair of their ruined, flavorless world.(/Rod Sterling)

08:02 * chreeus is enjoying your "Tea with JBoyer" episodes
08:02 chreeus you should totally start a podcast about it
08:02 jeff chreeus: depending on the file format, random order shouldn't matter to a parser that isn't terribly fragile. i'd be tempted to leave the behavior as-is to encourage more robust parsers. ;-)
08:04 chreeus jeff: yeah - I actually wasn't seeing the problem on my end initially because I was piping through 'perl -mjson.tool' which arranged everything in consistent order ;-)
08:05 chreeus s/perl/python/
08:06 jeff apropos of almost nothing, does anyone else use the jq tool and mentally pronounce it "J'accuse!"
08:07 jeff anyone?
08:07 jeff nope, just me then.
08:07 jeff anyway, super handy no matter how you pronounce it: https://stedolan.github.io/jq/
08:14 kmlussier Good morning!
08:14 jeff kmlussier: good morning!
08:14 kmlussier @tea JBoyer
08:14 * pinesol_green brews and pours a pot of Keemun Full Leaf Tea, and sends it sliding down the bar to JBoyer (http://ratetea.com/tea/foojoy/keemun-full-leaf/6686/)
08:15 kmlussier @coffee [someone]
08:15 * pinesol_green brews and pours a cup of El Salvador Pacamara Los Planes, and sends it sliding down the bar to dbs
08:15 JBoyer kmlussier++
08:15 kmlussier chreeus: So is that going to become a permanent nick?
08:16 JBoyer chreeus: I like to keep my audience small, no need to go all commercial and sell out to the man.

08:26 * chreeus will prolly revert to csharp after the novelty wears off
08:26 kmlussier chreeus++ #Need to put some karma points on that nick.
08:28 * tsbere looks at bug 1542297 and wonders why any part of Evergreen assumed hash keys were in any given order anyway
08:28 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1542297 in Evergreen "Evergreen on Perl 5.18+: Hash Randomization" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1542297
08:28 tsbere Also, apparently /me doesn't count as "no longer away" to my client. Go figure.

08:54 lualaba Hello
08:54 lualaba Anyone know how to fix this bug? https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1491875
08:54 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1491875 in Evergreen "Erroneous "Tab may have unsaved data" message when creating new MARC record" [Undecided,New]
08:55 lualaba same for me "ab may have unsaved data" message when creating new MARC record"
09:21 kmlussier @weather
09:21 pinesol_green kmlussier: Seekonk, MA :: Snow :: 33F/1C | Wind Chill: 22F/-5C | Friday: Cloudy with snow. Temps nearly steady in the low to mid 30s. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 100%. Snow accumulating 3 to 5 inches. Friday Night: Mainly clear. Low 19F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
09:21 * dbs always gets confused when older bugs are closed as a duplicate of a newer bug, seems backwards
09:21 * dbs needs that El Salvador Pacamara Los Planes, stat. kmlussier++
09:22 kmlussier dbs: Yeah, we just need to teach pinesol_green to pour the coffee into our mugs
09:30 kmlussier @marc 246
09:30 pinesol_green kmlussier: A form of the title appearing on different parts of an item or a portion of the title proper, or an alternative form of the title when the form differs significantly from the title contained in field 245. (Repeatable) [a,b,f,g,h,i,n,p,5,6,8]
09:34 dbs Best moment of my week was yesterday when I sat down with our music librarian and taught him how to copy/paste the 007 for CDs in the flat text editor
09:34 jeff :-)
09:35 jeff yeah, probably be a good idea to have some "common 007 templates" to compliment the wizard at some point.
09:35 dbs which led to a quick tutorial on MARC relator codes, which led to massive joy on his part as he realized how to make "Added author" entries become "Performer", "Conductor", etc
09:35 jeff hehe
09:36 dbs It's always nice to have someone at your home institution thrilled by work you did years ago :)

11:44 kmlussier Bah! Just accidentally registered for something that's happening at the same time as next week's dev meeting.
11:44 jeffdavis Does anyone else have the hstore data type belonging to the evergreen schema, rather than public? Does this cause problems if/when you restore from a pg_dump?

12:00 lualaba_ Hello i have install evergreen version 2.8.1. to upgrade 2.8.1 to 2.9.1 i should first upgrade to 2.8.4?
12:04 kmlussier lualaba_: That appears to be the case. I'm looking here - http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.9/_upgrade_the_evergreen_database_schema.html

13:31 mmorgan Is anyone successfully emailing receipts for credit card payments made in the catalog?
13:32 mmorgan The action trigger isn't firing and I'm not sure why.
13:38 tsbere mmorgan: Are you getting action_trigger.event rows?
13:39 mmorgan tsbere: No, no events are being created. And I can't see any errors.
13:42 tsbere mmorgan: Looking into things very simply, I don't see many points that an event would be created at in the perl side of things. Maybe there isn't anything hooked up to do that?
13:42 csharp I can see in edi_fetcher.pl's inline documentation that it expects an EDI account to be "active" and you can specify whether to include inactive accounts, but I don't see anything in the DB or in the UI that would set an EDI account to active/inactive
13:42 tsbere Alternatively, maybe you need to adjust the json file for autocreated events
13:43 csharp was that something that was planned but never implemented?
13:43 csharp or am I just missing something
13:45 * mmorgan needs to run out for a bit, will ponder more upon return
13:45 tsbere csharp: Providers have an active flag
13:46 csharp oh - providers vs. accounts
13:46 csharp I see
13:46 csharp tsbere++ # thanks
13:47 tsbere csharp: The only reason I know of this is that I read what $active gets filled with in edi_fetcher.pl ;)
13:47 csharp heh
13:48 csharp my $active = [ grep {$_->provider->active eq 't'} @$set ]; I see now

16:47 gmcharlt miker: bug 1542495
16:47 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1542495 in Evergreen "OpenILS::SIP::clean_text() can crash" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1542495
16:51 miker gmcharlt: https://github.com/dankogai/p5-encode/pull/11#issuecomment-55067835 may be a simple way forward
16:52 gmcharlt miker: indeed, and I've got a patch in the works for that specific instance
16:53 gmcharlt just another dozen or so spots let to check :)
16:54 miker bah
16:54 Stompro Does anything need to be restarted for MARC value maps - opac icon changes to take effect?
16:54 miker gmcharlt: planning on replacing /any/ use of decode_utf8 with such a wrapper, I'm guessing?
16:54 * bshum coughs, "reingest!"
16:55 gmcharlt miker: yeah
16:56 dbs Encode.pm's twists and turns have made it so much more fun dealing with unicode than it would have even been otherwise
16:57 * gmcharlt comes up with suitable emoji to respond to dbs, but then gets told "Wide character in print"
16:57 miker dbs: that was precisely my reaction when gmcharlt mentioned this new "fun" earlier :)
16:58 miker "didn't we deal with this for perl 5.8?!?!"
17:01 mmorgan left #evergreen
17:30 kmlussier Stompro: In case you missed it, what bshum just said (reingest). We just came across that same thing earlier this week. Luckily, it was on a test system. :)
17:31 kmlussier Stompro: But I would advise you to look carefully at your icon definitions to see if there are others you want to do, so that you can cover them all with one reingest.
18:31 Stompro Thanks kmlussier, we need to fix an issue quick, so need to do it tonight.
