I never can get the automatic updates to work on a Linux client. |
11:08 |
Dyrcona |
I always have to download the tbz and unarchive it. |
11:10 |
bshum |
Dyrcona: I didn't know that auto updates worked on anything other than the Win client. |
11:10 |
bshum |
Or at least, I've never been that lucky |
11:10 |
Dyrcona |
bshum: It tries, but fails. |
11:12 |
Dyrcona |
I built new clients, too, because of the translations. |
11:12 |
Dyrcona |
Think I'll see what fr-CA looks like. |
11:14 |
Dyrcona |
Nifty. It requires more screen real estate. French is a verbose language. |
11:15 |
Dyrcona |
Quite a few things are not translated. |
11:15 |
Dyrcona |
Oh well. That was fun. Back to English. ;) |

vendor provides "full" files as well as "adds for the month" and "removals for the month" |
14:02 |
jeff |
the "full" file is updated each month. |
14:02 |
jeff |
the first month i look at, the full file contains all of the bibs in the "added this month" (good!), but ALSO contains some of the bibs in the "removed this month" (bad!) |
14:03 |
* Dyrcona |
is not surprised. |
14:03 |
Dyrcona |
We have a similar arrangement with a vendor, but we only get the full files once a year in January. |
14:03 |
Dyrcona |
Actually, we can get them any time, but only get them once a year. |
14:04 |
Dyrcona |
The monthly updates often tell us to delete records that we never received in the first place. :) |

oh, openils.widget.AutoWidget, it probably _should_ be easy to tell you to set the default ordering_agency value to the user's workstation OU. |
14:32 |
tsbere |
dbs: set widgetValue when creating it? |
14:33 |
dbs |
tsbere: maybe; it's confusing, as po/create.js already has "ordering_agency : { orgDefaultsToWs : true }" but that doesn't seem to be doing anything |
14:34 |
tsbere |
dbs: Looks like AutoFieldWidget supports that (if widgetValue isn't provided) |
14:35 |
tsbere |
dbs: Which may be your answer. Use Auto*Field*Widget instead of just AutoWidget? |
14:38 |
dbs |
I dunno. Right now po/create.js uses an EditPane wrapped in an EditDialog |

For hold shelf expiration time, does the set time typically include closed days? |
14:48 |
mceraso |
Or will it skip over days that are closed? |
14:52 |
tsbere |
mceraso: If it does anything on that I imagine it is only in relation to "falls on a closed day"....and I don't recall if it checks that. |
14:54 |
Dyrcona |
tsbere mceraso: It does. If the shelf_expire_time falls on a closed day, it moves to the next open day. |
14:54 |
jeff |
it pushes it to the next open day if it falls on a closed day, but it does not make the shelf expire time include "X open days" |
14:54 |
Dyrcona |
It does not count closed days in the middle, apparently. |
14:55 |
mceraso |
Interesting! Of course, with the upcoming holiday, we are getting some questions |
14:55 |
jeff |
also, if you're looking at an existing hold, you can usually tell the ones that were pushed to the next open day, because they have 23:59:59 in the time. |
14:55 |
dbs |
fascinating, this.orgDefaultsToWs seems to be undefined when it hits _buildOrgSelector in AutoFieldWidget.js so it never sets the default |
14:59 |
mceraso |
Many thanks tsbere, Dyrcona and jeff! |
15:03 |

just sets it whenever this.widgetValue is null instead of worrying about this.orgDefaultsToWs |
