09:06 csharp hmm - hitting an installation problem with OpenSRF 2.4.1 on a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 VM:
09:06 csharp ./configure: line 12776: syntax error near unexpected token `CHECK,'
09:06 csharp ./configure: line 12776: `PKG_CHECK_MODULES(CHECK, check >= 0.9.0, enable_tests=yes,'
09:07 csharp I've run the Makefile.install and fwiw, 'check' is installed
09:08 Dyrcona joined #evergreen
09:09 csharp in https://www.coffeecode.net/archives/208-PKG_CHECK_MODULES-syntax-error-near-unexpected-token-DEPS,.html dbs indicates that installing pkg-config solved his issue, but that's installed too :-/
09:10 csharp suspend
09:10 csharp oops wrong window ;-)
09:10 tsbere csharp: You installing from a tarball or git?
09:10 csharp git
09:11 tsbere maybe try autoreconf -i again?
09:11 Dyrcona yep. definitely.
09:11 Dyrcona I was about to suggest that after reading the logs.
09:11 csharp yeah - just did and that worked
09:12 csharp thanks
09:12 csharp I've not hit that before
09:13 jeff we could probably avoid by adjusting instructions, either with an explicit "now run autoreconf -i again" or just "install these pre-reqs first, then autoreconf -i, then Makefile.install for remaining pre-reqs"
09:14 tsbere I don't think you need to run autoreconf to run Makefile.install anyway
09:15 Dyrcona jeff: Always run Makefile.install before running anything else.
09:15 Dyrcona And, what tsbere said.
09:15 Dyrcona csharp's problem appears to be that either check or pkg-config were not installed when autoreconf was run.
09:16 Dyrcona I've hit that and similar issues before.
09:16 bshum I thought autoreconf was after make prereqs anyways?
09:16 * bshum checks the README
09:17 bshum Yeah, it's already written that way in the steps.
09:21 Dyrcona To be honest, I think I've mostly hit that when trying to build a package of my own that uses autoconf and pkg-config on a system where I forgot to install pkg-config before hand.
09:29 Dyrcona bshum++ #Hacking Python.
09:30 Dyrcona @tea
09:30 * pinesol_green brews and pours a pot of Huang Shan Mao Feng Green Tea, and sends it sliding down the bar to Dyrcona (http://ratetea.com/tea/teavivre/huang-shan-mao-feng-green-tea/6041/)
09:30 Dyrcona Now, if he could just fix the tea at my local McDonald's.......
09:30 Dyrcona Yeah, 6 weeks and no tea. They need an electrician, and I think he was there this morning.

09:35 Dyrcona bshum: Are the RSS feeds still broken in supybot on 2.7?
09:35 bshum Dyrcona: I don't think so
09:35 Dyrcona OK, then.
09:35 bshum They should work
09:35 bshum Once configured
09:36 bshum I only added one.
09:36 bshum *back
09:36 Dyrcona I see, so it was configuration and not code changes?
09:36 bshum Dyrcona: I did change the whole bot, and upgraded it to the new forked version of supybot called Limnoria
09:37 Dyrcona OK.
09:37 bshum The new version of RSS that came with that bot worked "better"
09:38 bshum Hmm, since it didn't say so, I wonder if there's a scheduler that came with the old RSS that I don't see in the new one :\
09:38 bshum @rss qatests
09:38 pinesol_green bshum: 09:38 AM, September 22, 2015: Test Success - http://testing.evergreen-ils.org/~live/test.html <http://testing.evergreen-ils.org/~live/test.html>
09:40 * bshum will have to test more later.
09:40 Dyrcona It's all good.
09:49 jeff is there a recommended order for starting apache vs the websockets instance of apache?
09:51 berick jeff: i always start WS second out of habit, but it should not matter.
09:51 bshum I do too.
09:51 bshum Second that is.
09:51 Dyrcona What berick said.
09:51 berick they don't communicate w/ each other, only w/ jabber
09:51 ericar kmlussier: I've never had such fancy tea. Thank You.
09:51 Dyrcona I also stop then start it instead of restart.
09:51 Dyrcona The websockets apache that is.
09:52 bshum Dyrcona: Yeah I never got to the bottom of that one either, but you're right that "restart" doesn't always work the same as a stop/start
09:52 bshum Or at least, not every time I tried it.
09:52 berick i've alos had problems using 'service' and /etc/init.d/.. stop/start for websockets
09:53 kmlussier ericar: Everyone deserves a fancy tea every once in a while. :)
09:53 berick apache2ctl-websockets always works, though
09:53 Dyrcona berick: I was about to say that the serve and init.d scripts don't seem to work on Ubuntu. I can't speak to Debian.
09:53 Dyrcona s/serve/service/
09:54 Dyrcona bshum: Yeah, same here. restart works sometimes but seems to fail more often than it works.

13:14 kmlussier We seem to have several job openings in the Evergreen community right now, but we have nothing here - http://evergreen-ils.org/jobs/
13:17 RoganH I haven't had any submitted but you're right.  At the least I know of the ESI ones.
13:18 Dyrcona Pines just sent a message to the general list for those who haven't caught up with their email.
13:18 Dyrcona With a job opening, duh, me.
13:20 RoganH I'll contact folks about adding their listed jobs.  Other than pines and esi who else is listing jobs?
13:20 kmlussier Those are the only two I know of. But since ESI has so many, I figured it qualified as several. :)
13:21 RoganH I'll check with the appropriate parties.  :)
13:22 kmlussier There's this one too, but it might be too late. http://markmail.org/message/rmse46r3b3t5y3nq
13:22 RoganH August 19th, probably still looking I would think.  I'll contact them too.

13:25 csharp I forgot about that site :-/
13:29 RoganH It requires an expiration date so I put it at the end of the calendar year and we can always go back and extend it.
13:30 csharp RoganH: thanks
13:31 RoganH I'm starting to hate acquisitions.

13:41 RoganH So, the action trigger perl scripts run and it seems fine but the events don't complete. I can run run the trigger manually in srfsh and it completes.
13:41 bshum Hmm
13:41 bshum RoganH: maybe granularity issue?
13:41 tsbere RoganH: Did you use the run pending command line option?
13:41 RoganH maybe
13:43 RoganH tsbere: yep
13:44 RoganH I'm brain fried from other stuff going on which probably isn't helping.

14:04 Bmagic Im brainstorming on this wishlist item I created in LP. bug 1496522 One conclusion that I might have is that I shouldn't put a filter condition in the environment? It seems that the only way to specify the "amount owed" threshold might be with action_trigger_fileters.json ?

17:27 gsams Occam's Razor meet Murphy's Law.  That fix last week dealing with fines lead to another problem paying fines (because someone didn't explain checking the bills first before processing payment.)
17:28 gsams Simple solutions to make everything go wrong.
17:28 gsams At least there was a simple solution for that.
17:30 jeffdavis If simple solutions make everything go wrong, the simple solution would be to use a complex solution instead. But perhaps that solution is too simple.
17:31 jlitrell In theory, practice and theory are the same.  In practice, they're different.
17:31 gsams jeffdavis: In this case it was a simple solution, that should have been undone when the moment passed.
17:32 gsams jlitrell: Yes.

17:32 jeffdavis gsams: I hate those ones. My sympathies.
