We've had situations where users have attempted to renew items from the patron record, but instead have done a "Mark Claimed Never Checked Out". The two options are next to each other on the Actions menu. |
12:05 |

That checks in the item, putting it in reshelving status. Not sure if that relates at all to your situation. |

In that case the circ would have a stop fines of CLAIMSNEVERCHECKEDOUT |

mmorgan: something that jumps out is the attempt to use "AND" as a bool op. That alone isn't a smoking gun, and without the query plan it's impossible to say where the breakdown is exactly, but it is possible for a search query to get stuck in a corner with a very bad plan based on stats that say a bunch of sequential scans would be best ... |

Hi Everyone, I'm trying out a fresh install of 2.8 today, between debian wheezy, or a recent ubuntu, would anyone recommend one over the other? |
14:27 |
mmorgan |
Hmm. So that query doesn't get stuck on our training server, and took 9.5 seconds. It does get stuck on our production server and replicated db. Could something in a single record on our production server be causing it to get stuck? |

looks like the official documentation avoids mentioning which apache2 packages are required for 2.2 or 2.4. May I assume it's looking for prefork, with libapache2-mod-perl? |
15:49 |

ah, nvm, looks like the build script in opensrf installed apache2 for me :) |

ah, my first real install issue, it looks like websockets didn't come with mpm_prefork.load in /etc/apache2-websockets/mods-available/mpm_prefork.load: No such file or directory. |
16:42 |
pdot2 |
I'm assuming copying it from /etc/apache2/mods-available would be bad? |
16:43 |
Dyrcona |
pdot2: You only need websockets to test the experimental web staff client. Also, there are special instructions. |
16:44 |
Dyrcona |
Have you done these steps, yet: http://evergreen-ils.org/documentation/install/OpenSRF/README_2_4_0.html#_optional_websockets_installation_instructions |
16:45 |
pdot2 |
Dyrcona: ah, I've been building from http://evergreen-ils.org/documentation/install/OpenSRF/README_2_4_1.html so far, but would like to try out the web client (might just be the future killer-feature for our VDI infrastructure. |
16:46 |
Dyrcona |
The 2.4.1 README has the same section at the bottom. |
16:46 |
pdot2 |
ah yes, I've done those steps |
16:46 |
pdot2 |
just ran a quick diff to be sure :) |
16:47 |
pdot2 |
I generated a self-signed cert via the following: |
16:47 |
pdot2 |
cd /etc/apache2/ssl |
16:47 |
pdot2 |
openssl req -new -x509 -days 365 -nodes -out server.crt -keyout server.key |
16:47 |
pdot2 |
ha, wrong path |
16:48 |
Dyrcona |
Well, your problem looks like mpm prefork either was not installed or got deleted. |
16:48 |
Dyrcona |
I don't use Wheezy, so I can't really say. |
16:50 |
* jeff |
looks up |
16:52 |
jeff |
pdot2: i'm checking a reasonably recent wheezy instance where i was working with websockets to compare notes with you a little. one moment. |
16:52 |
jeff |
teaching said instance about our new ip addresses... |
16:56 |
jeff |
pdot2: so, your websockets instance of apache shouldn't need an mpm_prefork.load -- where are you seeing it referenced, other than in the error you pasted? |
16:56 |
jeff |
pdot2: i.e., what bit of your websockets instance config contains reference to mpm_prefork? |
16:56 |
Dyrcona |
hmm. Sounds like the wrong configuration file was copied, possibly. |
16:57 |
jeff |
possibly, but i didn't want to assume. :-) |
16:57 |
pdot2 |
hmm, looks like I have apache2-mpm-prefork and apache2-prefork-dev installed.. that error is what I get when starting /etc/init.d/apache2-websockets start |
16:57 |
Dyrcona |
Y'know me, I'm always will to make an ass of myself. :) |
16:57 |
Dyrcona |
willing, even. :) |
16:58 |
jeff |
pdot2: to be clear, the end result is that you have one apache instance handling websockets requests, and another apache instance handling everything else. |
16:59 |
pdot2 |
okay, I'll pastebin the config file, and check my command history for where it came from |
17:00 |
* Dyrcona |
calls it a day. |
17:01 |
pdot2 |
hah, yup, bad config file on my end :) |
17:01 |
jeff |
ah, good. |
17:03 |
jeff |
pdot2: had you copied the apache 2.4 example config by accident, and you have the default apache 2.2 on Wheezy? |
17:06 |
pdot2 |
I think so, looks like a relative path got me |
