07:19 csharp @later tell Bmagic yeah, I've consistently seen that problem with the permissions group UI.  The problem with "just use the database" is that it puts a burden on system staff with server-level access to do things that should be available to non-technical users.
07:19 pinesol_green csharp: The operation succeeded.
07:22 csharp I guess my second sentence there is directed to the larger channel, not just to Bmagic ;-)

09:16 bshum Before I cut 2.7.1 today, hoping finish looking over https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1366964
09:16 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1366964 in Evergreen "Transaction Issues with libdbi 0.9.0" (affected: 1, heat: 6) [Undecided,Confirmed]
09:17 bshum And also, have to finish setting up my build environment to get the web client stuff properly into the tarball
09:18 csharp bshum: what would be the most effective way to test the fix to the libdbi bug?
09:19 csharp Dyrcona: weren't you only experiencing the issue under conditions of higher load?
09:19 * csharp re-reads
09:19 bshum csharp: I was going to try following what happened in the bug report as far as copy creation goes. And also figure out the perl test that was included.
09:20 csharp ah - there's a test
09:20 Dyrcona csharp: No, it had nothing to do with load. pcrud transactions simply failed.
09:20 bshum berick++
09:20 csharp Dyrcona: okay - my quick read several months ago clearly led to inaccurate impressions of the issue :-)
09:20 bshum csharp: If you have time to spare a look, extra eyes never hurt.
09:20 Dyrcona The fix is very simple and seems to work, but a mass delete script I tested on precise after applying the change gave me several "unknown errors."
09:21 csharp well, since we're an ubuntu shop, and this is a obvious impediment, I only think it fair that we participate ;-)

09:58 * csharp tests the fix for bug 1366964 without issues
09:58 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1366964 in Evergreen "Transaction Issues with libdbi 0.9.0" (affected: 1, heat: 6) [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1366964
09:58 berick to be clear, the fix to 1366964 doesn't prevent "unknown errors" (from the DB), it just allows cstore to recognize them as transient instead of "OMG DB IS DOWN"
09:58 csharp live test works fine
10:01 Dyrcona berick: I suspected as much. I'll sign off on it.
10:02 berick Dyrcona++
10:02 berick csharp++ # testing
10:02 Dyrcona If csharp wants to sign off, too, that's cool. I can wait and sign his branch then push that.
10:03 Dyrcona It's today we want to release the dot releases for 2.5, 2.6, and 2.7, right?
10:05 bshum Dyrcona: That's certainly my goal for 2.7.
10:05 Dyrcona OK. Well, I'll push berick's branch.
10:06 Dyrcona You want me to push to master and rel_2_7, right?
10:06 bshum Dyrcona: Sounds right to me.
10:07 Dyrcona Will do.

10:33 csharp I figured it out - I didn't check out the branch before cherry-picking

10:33 csharp right
10:33 csharp I pushed the branch as-was

11:24 jboyer-isl I think so. I've tested it a bit but I haven't heard of anyone else trying it out.
11:26 jboyer-isl kmlussier, It worked well enough for me the day of the hackaway, for what that's worth.
11:26 kmlussier jboyer-isl: OK, I'll add one then. I think we have somebody here is interested in trying it out.
