12:21 kmlussier rfrasur: http://wonder-tonic.com/geocitiesizer/content.php?theme=2&music=6&url=evergreen-ils.org
12:21 rfrasur oh....that's less exciting.
12:21 * rfrasur lost a lot of content when geocities went under and she didn't pay attention.
12:21 * kmlussier wonders what rfrasur was hoping for.
12:22 rfrasur I was hoping for all my lost data to come home.
12:22 rfrasur @eightball Is it my own fault?
12:22 pinesol_green rfrasur: In your dreams.
12:23 kmlussier rfrasur: Funny, I was just talking to somebody last week (maybe it was rangi?) about a project to archive some geocities content.
12:23 rfrasur Stuff that they'd downloaded while they still could?
12:24 kmlussier rfrasur: The details are unclear now, but I don't think it was targeting U.S. content.
12:24 rfrasur That sounds pretty interesting...
12:24 * rfrasur imagines going to a geocities library and discovering all her lost content.

12:26 kmlussier Oh, I'm sorry rfrasur. My intent was to give you something delicious.
12:27 rfrasur Nope, the jello is good. I'm trying to be responsible for a whole week as far nourishment goes.
12:27 kmlussier @eightball Will pinesol_green ever give anyone cupcakes?

12:30 jeff rfrasur: regarding geocities, there were several efforts at archiving geocties. for a good overview, see here: http://archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Geocities -- especially "How can I find a page or website I'm looking for?"

12:46 mllewellyn Wow, the cupcakes were actually delivered?
12:48 rfrasur mllewellyn++
12:49 mllewellyn Hey, does anyone know if there is a way to set record bucket permissions so that my librarians can add records to a bucket but not do anything to them? (No deleting, no merging, no editing?) I'm trying to figure out a way for them to more quickly put things into their public bookbags (like for their local authors) instead of having to add one bib at a time, and using the staff client record bucket would fill the bill, but
12:50 csharp mllewellyn: your message was truncated at "bucket would fill the bill, but"
12:50 mllewellyn our current set up can lead to mischief
12:51 mllewellyn We don't let them do anything to bibs, we centralized bib record management.
12:51 mllewellyn The only thing we allow is for the bib to delete itself when the last item is removed.
12:54 csharp mllewellyn: there is a CREATE_CONTAINER_ITEM permission that should do what you want. They probably have to be able to VIEW_CONTAINER and you wouldn't want them to DELETE_CONTAINER_ITEM if I'm understanding the question correctly
12:55 csharp actually, since you need CREATE_CONTAINER_ITEM to add items to bookbags, that's probably set already for all your users
12:55 mllewellyn Yes but what about the buttons to Merge Bibs, delete bibs, etc.? how canthey be disabled?
12:55 csharp mllewellyn: sorry, I don't know that - probably not easily
12:55 mllewellyn SOme of my adventurous librarians may try those and we don't whatn them to.
12:55 jeff if the staff users in question don't have the underlying permission to merge or delete bibs, in theory the buttons will be enabled but not actually do what they do, unless someone enters credentials when prompted that DO have those underlying permissions.
12:56 mllewellyn That's all I need is for rogue merging to be going on behind our backs.
12:56 jeff i would recommend testing this theory in a test system with some unimportant bibs, or in a live system with (again) unimportant (say, generated for this test) bibs. :-)
12:56 mllewellyn jeff: OK, thanks
12:57 * csharp installs Windows XP in a VM so he can demonstrate how to install Lubuntu over it in documentation ;-)
12:57 mllewellyn Since bibs do delete when they remove the last items, I'm thinking they kind of do have permission to delete.
12:58 csharp well, since DELETE_CONTAINER_ITEM allows patrons to remove bookbag items, it might be set for everyone too, come to think of it
12:59 csharp so it sounds like you're coming up with a feature request that includes more granular permissions between bib/item buckets and/or bookbags
12:59 mllewellyn Deleting from a container is different from deleting a bib from the database, isn't it?
12:59 csharp oh yes
13:00 mllewellyn csharp: But you're right, I was hoping for some granularity.
13:01 mmorgan mllewellyn: just tried to merge to records from a bucket as a user who didn't have permission, and was prompted for authorization to MERGE_BIB_RECORDS
13:01 mmorgan btw, thanks for the cupcakes!
13:02 mllewellyn mmorgan: thanks for testing, and you're welcome for the cupcakes. :)

13:12 phasefx_ hrmm, I think there's a typo in 0799.state_field_required_toggle.sql and 2.4.3-2.5.0-upgrade-db.sql. ui.patron.edit.au.state.require vs ui.patron.edit.aua.state.require, and similar

13:33 gsams Where does the OPAC pull the alt text for format icons? I'm on 2.3.5 and am having a heck of a time finding what I'm looking for.
13:34 tsbere gsams: Coded value map labels, I think/hope at this point
13:34 tsbere Though I forget when it started paying attention to translations. >_>
13:35 gsams tsbere: I think that was a 2.4 feature, unfortunately for me. Of I figure the icons would be correct at this point
13:35 tsbere gsams: What are you seeing?
13:36 gsams language material, the label in our system is book
13:36 tsbere Ahhh, yea, I think the DB is loading the label and then sending it forward, later versions say (or should say) "here is the label's id, look it up with translations in effect please"
13:42 csharp joined #evergreen
13:42 gsams ah, okay. So there isn't any way other than changing the value in the old table, instead of it working off of the public label
13:42 gsams thanks

13:42 tsbere gsams: Go find the commit(s) that made it pay attention to translations and such and apply them locally?
13:45 bmills joined #evergreen
13:52 eeevil gsams: in 2.3, the alt text comes from the MODS-transformed version of the bib. there's no way to change those labels other than changing the xslt in the database, but other things will break if you do that
13:55 gsams tsbere: I have found those commits, but I'm mid migration and don't want to risk it during that time, I think this will just be a bonus of our post migration update.
13:56 gsams eeevil: that is good to know. I'm glad I wasn't thinking of doing that!

15:50 frank__ Hi all, I am trying to import some records with a match set rule, but I am gettint the follow error on the log, function vandelay.get_expr_from_match_set(integer, hstore) does not exist, does someone have the script to create that function, o what should I do?
16:03 kbutler joined #evergreen
16:45 remingtron frank__: I don't know much about using match set rules, but my first guess is that you might be using an older version of Evergreen that doesn't have that function yet. Do you know what version you are using?
16:47 kmlussier remingtron: If frank__ is from the same library as the one that has been asking about match sets on the list, it's 2.5.3.
16:49 remingtron kmlussier: thanks. I guess we can wait and see if he is. That function would have been added in version 2.3.0, I think.
16:50 kmlussier remingtron: 2.2 I remember it well
