11:08 emir12 Hello, I need some help, I'm trying to import some records in the MARC batch import, but when I use a record match set none record it's imported, if I don't use any record match set the import it's normal, someone knows what can cause this problem?
11:12 krvmga joined #evergreen
11:13 krvmga there's a file called progressbar_green.gif in ~/Evergreen-ILS-2.5.2/Open-ILS/web/opac/images . this seems to be the little spinner that we see while the opac is going through a search.
11:14 csharp krvmga: pretty sure that's holdover from JSPAC, right?
11:14 krvmga csharp: you mean this is not the spinner we see in tpac?
11:15 csharp oh - I'm wrong
11:15 krvmga the image URL is http://training.cwmars.org/opac/images/progressbar_green.gif
11:15 csharp there's a progressbar_green-old.gif too
11:16 krvmga well, when i rename progressbar_green.gif and substitute a different image, it doesn't show up in the catalog. i'm puzzled.
11:16 kmlussier krvmga: Your training catalog isn't open to the outside world.
11:16 * csharp was thrown by the name, which he guesses was preserved to prevent breakage
11:16 krvmga sorry. this url will be fine http://bark.cwmars.org/opac/images/progressbar_green.gif
11:17 csharp krvmga: I'm sure the browser caches those images - have you tried opening the page afresh in another browser (or clearing the browser cache)?
11:19 tspindler1 joined #evergreen
11:19 krvmga csharp: yes, i use a chrome addon called History Eraser which clears everything
11:19 krvmga it's a very useful addon and i recommend it, especially if you have to clear the cache as often as I do to see changes.
11:20 csharp ah cool
11:22 krvmga does apache have to be restarted maybe?
11:23 * berick really likes the "disable cache while dev tools open" chrome option
11:24 krvmga berick++
11:24 dbwells joined #evergreen
11:24 csharp krvmga: no - if you change the file, that's live
11:25 csharp no need for apache restart
11:25 krvmga hmmm, i wonder why it's not showing up then. and i tried a different browser, too, just in case.
11:25 csharp krvmga: to be clear, you're changing the file in /openils/var/web/opac/images, not ~/Evergreen-ILS-2.5.2/Open-ILS/web/opac/, right?
11:26 * csharp got confused between the source dir and the installation dir in his early EG days ;-)
11:27 krvmga csharp: well, you know, i think i will just walk off down this path whistling like nobody noticed i just slipped on a banana peel.
11:27 csharp ha!

11:40 dbs kmlussier: variety of contributions and (in that context) weirdness of a doc paywall
11:40 kmlussier krvmga: LOL No, I think dbs was referring to something I'm saying in Atlanta.
11:41 krvmga kmlussier: i just thought, if you were confused and we all piled on thanking you, it would be nice.

11:42 * kmlussier has been getting a little twitchy at various points.
11:44 rangi kmlussier: yeah some comments/ideas push my buttons
11:44 * dbs feels muddled in the expression of his thoughts; must be the absinthe
11:44 rangi im glad that you and dbs are here
11:44 rangi and graced too of course
11:45 kmlussier rangi: And I'm glad you're here. The thing I've gotten out of this symposium is that our two communities have a lot in common. :)
11:45 * dbs very happy Koha and Evergreen are both represented
11:45 * graced is glad you guys are here to say things she can't
11:46 graced Some people I spoke to were really excited to hear how well our communities get along.  That was nice to talk about.
11:47 csharp dbs: you're in ATL too?
11:48 dbs aye, for a few more hours
11:48 csharp rangi: Elizabeth McKinney told me she just met you and was very impressed
11:48 csharp sorry I wasn't around!
11:49 csharp GPLS staff were up at a state park in North Georgia celebrating library IT geekdom
11:49 * dbs is a bad person, mostly focused on gettng in and out as quickly as possible :/
11:50 * csharp is so tired of travelling
11:50 graced I think we can give you a pass dbs, you've had a lot of conference travel to oppostie time zones in the past month.  If only you weren't so popular...  ;)
11:50 dbs methinks more attention should be paid to lessons learned from proven sustainable projects like Koha at events like this
11:50 csharp so I understand

15:15 montgoc1 Report question: I'm venturing into new areas in reports.  Within the report module, is it possible to report on the 650 and 655 fields in a MARC record?
15:27 hbrennan It's possible to report on anything!
15:27 hbrennan I don't know how though. I'm just being a cheerleader for the possibility
15:27 hbrennan It's unusually quiet in here today
15:27 montgoc1 Yeah. Friday I guess.
15:28 hbrennan I'd write up what you're looking for and send it via email.
15:28 hbrennan You'll probably get a good response that way
15:29 hbrennan Wait a minute.. You're the report expert
15:29 hbrennan Uh oh
15:29 montgoc1 Yeah, right.
15:29 hbrennan I'm preaching to the choir
15:29 hbrennan Well, YOU told me at the conference that anything was possible :)
15:29 hbrennan Just difficult
15:30 montgoc1 It is.  But sometimes easier to consult with folks.
15:30 hbrennan Most definitely.
15:30 montgoc1 You know, reinventing the wheel.
15:30 hbrennan I didn't get Reports training when we migrated, so your presentation was my first look at it
15:30 montgoc1 It was the same way.
15:31 montgoc1 with me, that is.
15:31 hbrennan That session turned into a UN session. It was great. I gave feedback afterwards that it could have been all day
15:32 montgoc1 It could have.  And Jessica is a wizard. I learned so much from her working with her on the presentation.
15:32 hbrennan Yeah, she seems to have figured out the ways to trick the system into working
15:32 hbrennan I feel the same way about serials predictions. I've cracked the code, though it's difficult to explain
15:32 tsbere montgoc1: Look at metabib.full_rec or real_full_rec, whichever is exposed in the reporter. >_> You can't report on entire marc tags when subfields are involved that way, though
15:32 montgoc1 Well, I'll keep plugging away and perhaps send out an email if nothing manifests.
15:33 montgoc1 OK. Thanks.

15:36 mmorgan montgoc1: I don't do much reporting either, but there's the "Flattened MARC Fields" source that seems to give access to marc tags and indicators
15:36 tsbere mmorgan: That is probably the name in the reporter for the tables I just mentioned
15:36 * tsbere was too lazy to look up the reporter's name
15:36 mmorgan Yes, I think it is.
