@later tell bshum Gunnar, the facilitator of the doc sprint, would like to have a word with you about your opinion of jargon free goal oriented chapter titles. |

So, hold targeter appears to have been running since 6:45 am. I wonder if I should kill it. |
09:55 |
Dyrcona |
There is also a /tmp/action-trigger-LOCK hanging around from the same time. |
10:11 |
csharp |
Dyrcona: ours runs for hours sometimes |
10:11 |
Dyrcona |
I killed them. |

Both said that they couldn't connect to the settings server and were going to sleep. |

ah ;-) |
10:12 |
Dyrcona |
That happens to our password reset action trigger all the time. |

Hrm... I've often wondered what's the difference between pre-cataloged and non-cataloged copies in a technical sense. |
11:03 |
Dyrcona |
If they're both circulated, they get copies created on bib -1, right? |
11:04 |
Dyrcona |
Is it mainly just a terminology distinction: i.e. non-cataloged copies are deleted after the circulation and pre-cataloged copies are sent to cataloging to get added to the appropriate bibliographic record? |
11:09 |
eeevil |
Dyrcona: incorrect. non-cat are recorded separately and do NOT get a row in action.circulation |
11:10 |
eeevil |
they get "user X took $count of type Y at time Z" records |
11:10 |
Dyrcona |
ok. |
11:15 |
Dyrcona |
So, non-cataloged copies do not get an entry on bib -1? |

Dyrcona: Looking at the database, I would assume that non-cats go either in action.non_cat_in_house_use or action.non_cataloged_circulation |
11:42 |
bshum |
Neither of which would create any sort of copy at all. |
11:43 |
Dyrcona |
bshum: Thanks. I had seen those tables before but not looked at them in any detail. |
11:43 |
bshum |
Dyrcona: Basically the key thing they're tracking for non-cat is the type of non-cat used |
11:44 |
bshum |
And those are defined in config.non_cataloged_type |
11:44 |
bshum |
Of which I have just one so far, paperback |
11:44 |
Dyrcona |
OK. I'll have a look later, but my main questions have been answered. |
11:44 |
Dyrcona |
Right. 'Cause many libraries do not catalog paperbacks. |
