07:51 mrpeters saravanakumar: looks like you missed the apache configuration steps
07:51 mrpeters as the error says, eg_startup (a perl script) is not found in /etc/apache2
07:57 saravanakumar for me it staying Can't load Perl file: /etc/apache2/eg_startup for server 127.0.0.1:0, exiting

08:23 mrpeters saravanakumar: right, because, as i said, the script is missing
08:23 mrpeters you missed one of the steps in the install documentation, most likely
08:24 mrpeters http://evergreen-ils.org/documentation/install/README_2_5.html -- see step 7
08:32 saravanakumar i did that
08:32 saravanakumar only thing is i ran the apache user is www-data
08:34 Shae joined #evergreen
08:36 mrpeters it needs to be opensrf
08:36 mrpeters for the logs
08:36 mrpeters what does "view /etc/apache2/eg_startup" give you
08:54 mrpeters saravanakumar: i'm betting you'll get a file does not exist error
09:03 saravanakumar no peters when i starting apache its threwing me Can't load perl file
09:04 saravanakumar let me try change the apache run user

10:09 mrpeters saravanakumar: it can't load the perl file becuase it doesnt exist, is what i am trying to say
10:09 mrpeters saravanakumar: go to cd /etc/apache2 and type "ls"
10:09 mrpeters if eg_startup isnt there....thats your problem
10:59 bshum saravanakumar: eg_startup.pl is not the same thing as eg_startup
11:00 bshum With more recent versions of Evergreen, the .pl extension was dropped from the filename.
11:07 mllewellyn joined #evergreen
11:10 saravanakumar the file is exist
11:10 saravanakumar i ran that as opensrf user too mrpeters..
11:11 saravanakumar bshum i have changed the file name in eg.conf under site enabled
11:24 bshum saravanakumar: It sounds like there's something else going on with your apache configuration then.
11:24 bshum Also, it seems odd to me that you'd rename the entry in eg.conf to say eg_startup.pl but the error messages you've linked to are referencing eg_startup being missing
11:25 bshum Have you tried following the original README instructions and just naming it eg_startup in /etc/apache2 instead of .pl then?
11:25 bshum It's not good to deviate too much.
11:45 phasefx_ jfyi, I asked mtate to change the server time on testing.evergreen-ils.org to EST

12:23 phasefx_ ha, someone wrote a version of that.  "Twas the night before upgrade of the serving device / Not an admin was sleeping, the men nor their mice"
13:38 phasefx_ hrmm, anyone ever see open-ils.circ.checkout.full fail with this: Cannot determine local time zone
13:39 saravanakumar yes bshum i have tried that too
13:39 saravanakumar but no luck
13:43 phasefx_ saravanakumar: could you use http://paste.evergreen-ils.org/ and paste the contents of your eg.conf file, and an ls -l listing of /etc/apache2/ ?
13:44 saravanakumar sure
13:48 saravanakumar http://paste.evergreen-ils.org/45
13:48 saravanakumar pasted it

13:50 saravanakumar thanks in advance
13:52 phasefx_ saravanakumar: if you have one more moment, pasting the contents of eg_startup may be helpful as well
13:55 phasefx_ and the log lines created in /var/log/apache2/error.log when you try to start it

16:46 jeff fun fact: a recursive diff (diff -r) will silently follow symlinks, reporting zero differences on two directories that actually are quite different.
16:46 jeff all depends on what you mean by "different"
16:46 jeff rsync can be your friend there.
16:47 jeff or just use find or similar on both dirs to confirm that there are no symlinks ahead of time, as a recursive diff is still quite handy and better than rsync for many use cases.

18:56 mrpeters 2.3 > 2.4 db upgrade troubles.....  http://pastie.org/8578553  what am I hitting here?  I can't imagine I want to drop all of those indicies, right?
19:02 mrpeters DROP EXTENSION tsearch2; -- Next up, re-creating all of the stuff we just dropped. -- Indexes! Note to whomever: Do we even need these anymore? makes me think a DROP EXTENSION tsearch2 CASCADE; would be more appropriate?
