Okay, tested concerto data with 2.4 vs. master as regards to that weird title indexing issue. In 2.4 it's fine, I get all the alternate titles indexed properly. In master, the entries are missing. |

Now thinking it's related to browse search in some way. |

Since that was the last thing to touch the metabib reingest |

Between versions |

will investigate that more later |

I've noticed that after a certain commit altered the reingest further, the reingest seems to take longer. |
13:01 |
Dyrcona |
That commit may have been squashed before going into master. |
13:02 |
Dyrcona |
I never had the time to fully investigate it this summer. |

Dyrcona |
Still don't, actually. |

Hey! Nice! |
16:12 |
Dyrcona |
001 from TLC MARC records are not unique! |
16:12 |
Dyrcona |
Makes it hard to target a hold at 890004040 when there are ten of them. |
16:17 |
jcamins |
Dyrcona: unique 001s? Ah-ha-ha-ha! Why would you want something like that? |
16:17 |
jcamins |
Next you'll be telling me that you don't like records with mixed MARC-8 UTF-8 encoding. |
16:17 |
Dyrcona |
jcamins: 'Cause the "standard" says so! |
16:18 |
Dyrcona |
oh, I wish.... It's MARC-8 and ISO8859-1, usually, or codepage whatever. |
16:19 |
jcamins |
That was fun. |
16:19 |
jcamins |
In the middle of the import my database vanished. |
16:23 |
Dyrcona |
Well, at leas that is not as drastic as my situation. |
16:23 |
Dyrcona |
I think I'm going to tell them that I can't load their holds because their old system keyed on the 001 and they aren't unique, so I have no way of knowing what the patron had on hold. |
16:23 |
Dyrcona |
Anyway, I'm signing off. |
16:23 |
jcamins |
That makes sense to me. |

Have a good weekend. |
16:24 |
Dyrcona |
gonna shut the laptop off for an hour or so. |
16:24 |
Dyrcona |
heh. |
16:24 |
Dyrcona |
I'm working all weekend. |

@later tell Dyrcona are the non-unique 001's happening with adjacent records? wondering if holding tags were being split across duplicated bibs on export or something |

Well, I expected the scripts to be faster on my production hardware than on my development vm, but not 6x as fast! |
20:51 |
Dyrcona |
@later tell phasefx I have no idea. I just know there are duplicates. |
