09:43 rfrasur Happy Friday!
09:56 paxed feeling relaxed already.
09:57 rfrasur lol, isn't your Friday well entrenched already?
09:57 rfrasur I'm glad you're relaxed though.
09:58 paxed i just got out of the sauna
09:59 paxed (and it's 5pm, so yes, well underway already)
10:05 rfrasur hmm, does it count that our humidity makes it somewhat like a sauna? (except clothes wearing is recommended)

10:12 rfrasur on my gosh...on the back of the office door!

10:13 csharp kmlussier: nope - we just had a massive storm come through and cool everything down
10:13 rfrasur yeah, that is kinda cool for Georgia
10:13 rfrasur Is it still misting there?

10:14 csharp wow - that's a low temp too
10:14 kmlussier A lot of rain for us too. I'm about to build an ark.
10:15 rfrasur hmm, if those tree trimmers dropping limbs in the road right by my son's car (that I have to drive) hit the car...can I yell at them using the crazy momma voice?
10:15 rfrasur kmlussier: y'all have gotten enough rain for a year already, haven't you?
10:17 kmlussier I don't know. It was fairly dry earlier in the spring, but it's our wettest June in the record books. It's supposed to be sunny for the weekend - that's all that matters to me.
10:18 tspindler kmlussier: sunny in worcester now, maybe heading your way
10:20 rfrasur After the storms went through here yesterday, it turned into an absolutely gorgeous albeit windy day.

10:54 rfrasur It's a sad thing when a member of of the EG-IN exec committee has a 5 year long policy misunderstanding
10:54 rfrasur rfrasur--
10:58 mrpeters which policy
10:58 rfrasur fines/fees for transited materials
10:59 rfrasur and the confusion between who is the billing library
10:59 mrpeters oh fun
11:01 csharp yeah - I'm glad somebody long ago had the PINES libraries agree that fines/fees could be paid at any library
11:01 mrpeters +1
11:01 mrpeters indiana was working toward that
11:02 mrpeters i wrote a bunch of reports for reconciliation....but i guess it never took off
11:02 rfrasur just a sec...phone
11:03 phasefx rfrasur: we're all asynchronous here :)
11:03 * csharp presses freenode's pause button
11:04 phasefx ah, so you're the cause of netsplit
11:04 csharp muhahaha
11:06 rfrasur okay...sorry.
11:07 rfrasur phasefx: I can't comprehend what asynchronous means right now, but I think that was a pretty clever comment.
11:08 rfrasur mrpeters: the consortium is moving forward w/ the payment pilot.  And the reconciliation stuff you did, but we were interpreting policy incorrectly at the local level.
11:08 mcooper joined #evergreen
11:08 rfrasur mrpeters: apparently (something I didn't know until today...nearly five years in) that the billing library is not necessarily the owning library.
11:08 rfrasur so we've been directing people w/ overdue fines for materials from another library to pay that library.
11:09 tspindler1 joined #evergreen
11:09 rfrasur when, in reality, they should only have to transact w/ that library if they lose or damage the material...and WE should get that overdue fine money.

11:14 * dbs has been using that view for a sanity check on campus fines transfers experimentally
11:15 * rfrasur facepalms
11:15 phasefx rfrasur: asynchronous like I'm doing here, responding 7 minutes later :)
11:16 rfrasur lol thanks phasefx - understood
11:16 rfrasur dbs: I dunno if that makes me feel better/worse/indifferent
11:16 * rfrasur doesn't want to know how much money she turned away
11:17 dbs rfrasur: just offering something up that other sites might find useful, or be able to improve on, etc
11:17 rfrasur dbs++
11:18 rfrasur I'm pretty sure that I was telling someone this morning how I was for messy/painful education because it increases retention.
11:18 rfrasur and now I'm pretty sure that God HEARD that comment...and decided to call me on it.

11:20 eeevil rfrasur: I wrote, for PINES and later ISL, some system-level cross-circ (and cross-hold) pure-sql reporting scripts in the long-long ago ... either might have them still, but I can't find them ATM.  there's certainly replicable (no rocket science involved), and dbs' is good for branch-level checking
11:22 rfrasur eeevil: It's something that's being addressed already as far as the ILS goes - stuff has already been written and implemented in a limited trial.  The problem here was completely my misinterpretation of policy and because we don't need to those reconciliations yet on the broad scale w/in the consortium.

12:29 rfrasur hmm, giving teens wearing morphsuits tips on how to troll people - how far we have fallen.
12:33 dbs rfrasur: reference question?
12:33 rfrasur err...yes?
12:33 rfrasur does that count as a reference question?
12:33 * rfrasur was explaining to them the fine line between trolling and harassment and the differing legalities
12:33 jcamins rfrasur: wow, life as a public librarian sure sounds interesting.
12:33 dbs wow.
12:33 rfrasur yep - it's not boring
12:34 * rfrasur also explained the best thing about the "morphsuit" imprint across the bum of one of them was when it was covered by gym shorts.
12:34 hopkinsju Never heard of those. Sounds fun
12:36 rfrasur http://www.morphsuits.com/?gclid=CKC1-sL947cCFWJlMgodtmYAgg I can't attest to the fun of it.  Only that it keeps teens w/ ADHD occupied (and makes them smelly....and no...we don't circulate them)

12:37 jcamins rfrasur: people actually walk around in those?
12:37 rfrasur jcamins: the short, sad answer is "yes."
12:37 rfrasur but they have to wear gym shorts over them in here and they can't cover their faces.
12:38 hopkinsju I want to get the glowing green one and go roller skating
12:39 rfrasur hopkinsju: If you do, make sure there's documentation.
12:40 * jcamins is profoundly disturbed that there has to be a policy on spandex body suits in a public library.
12:40 jcamins It feels like that should be a self-apparent "just don't."
12:41 rfrasur jcamins: It's not a documented policy.  It's covered under our disruptive conduct policy

12:42 hopkinsju Unrelated to skin tight glowing body suits... I'm running xmllint on a pretty large file and it's crashing. Log is empty. Anyone seen this?
12:43 hopkinsju Large as in 1.7G
12:44 gmcharlt hopkinsju: I suggest trying --stream
12:44 gmcharlt otherwise, it might be runnign out of memory trying to build a DOM tree
12:46 hopkinsju gmcharlt: Thanks for the tip - I was guessing that memory was the issue.

12:51 Phenol Under the postgres user on the server I do
12:51 hopkinsju Cool. Well, you'd want to check out the actor.usr table
12:51 hopkinsju SELECT * FROM actor.usr;

12:54 Phenol Does that seem right?
12:54 Phenol tell me about it...
12:54 hopkinsju Is this something you're just setting up or something that's been in production a while?
12:54 dbs No. It looks like somebody dropped your evergreen database, created a blank database, and added one table to it
12:54 hopkinsju gmcharlt: --stream did the trick!
12:54 hopkinsju gmcharlt++
12:55 dbs evergreen.patrons isn't even a standard table for evergreen.

12:55 hopkinsju what about '\d actor.usr'?
12:56 Phenol hopkinsju: It was something that a vendor had setup.. and up until this morning we were able to login. The vendor says its nothing on their side of evergreen thats stopping it. They checked and said its a network issue.. (which is not the case imo)

14:53 jcamins kmlussier: of course! If you visit #koha, you will discover that I only pretend to work on FOSS library software. Mostly I just bake.
14:54 rfrasur as it should be
14:55 * kmlussier makes a mental list of eg people she should be sending cookies to in return for good deeds. It's a long list.

17:31 jeff_ strange/interesting.
17:32 jeff_ i have a copy which shows in jspac but not in tpac
17:32 jeff_ staff tpac can find the record, but there are zero copies.
17:33 jeff_ acp/acn/bre all appear to be not-deleted
17:33 jeff_ isn't a missing 901$c issue (otherwise it wouldn't show in tpac at all)
17:34 jeff_ maybe an asset.opac_visible_copies issue.
17:35 kmlussier jeff_: Maybe this? https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1026703
17:35 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1026703 in Evergreen "TPAC search does not find some items" (affected: 1, heat: 6) [Undecided,Invalid]
17:38 jeff_ does not appear to be. the marc appears valid, and passes marclint without issues.
17:38 jeff_ the copy does not appear in asset.cache_copy_visibility
17:38 jeff_ looking at the asset.cache_copy_visibility function
